Infant Baptism
We welcome all parents who wish to bring their
child to receive the Christian Sacrament of Infant Baptism.
Infant Baptism however is only the very first step of the
Christian Life. Children brought for Infant Baptism are
blissfully unaware of what is being done on their behalf. During
the following few years of growth and development the child that
has received Infant Baptism will require much nurturing in the
Christian Faith by Parents, Godparents and Family.
It is important that Parents understand that
Infant Baptism is a significant event in the life of their child
that commits them to providing access to Christian Teaching
until their child is able to confirm their own beliefs in
the Christian Faith. In our Church this is done by becoming a
Church Member. We would therefore ask that if you wish your
child to be Baptised you are also committing yourself to bringing
your child to Junior Church (Sunday School) until they are able
to confirm their faith or not.
If you wish to have your child baptised then
please speak to one of the Leaders at Church following one of
our services. If you are unable to do this please contact a
Church Official through our telephone number. Please see
'Contact Us' page.
Weddings
If you wish to be married at Grappenhall IM
Church we would expect you to meet at least one of the following
criteria.
- That you already worship with us on a
regular basis.
- That you were once part of our fellowship
but no longer live in the area.
- That you live in either Grappenhall,
Thelwall, Stockton Heath or Latchford and are prepared to
attend services on a regular basis.
Providing you meet one of the above conditions
you should first speak to a Church Leader following a Church
Service. All enquiries must be made in person. Those who are not
regular attenders will be required to complete an application
form. It is not possible to discuss wedding arrangements via the
telephone.
Those wishing to take their enquiry further
will then be interviewed by a Church Leader who will then decide
whether to perform the marriage ceremony.
Christian Funerals
If a loved one has requested a Christian
Funeral we will willingly assist at this most difficult of
times. Your Funeral Director should know who to contact at the
Church but if you have any difficulty please see our 'Contact
Us' page.
